Pass Plus with ASPIRE2DRIVE.

The DSA highly recommends all new drivers take advantage of the Pass Plus course. This informal course is designed to make newly qualified drivers more confident in all situations, gain invaluable extra experience and learn positive driving skills which under normal circumstances can take some time to acquire.

Town driving, Rural driving, Dual carriageways, Motorway driving, All weather driving, Night driving.

With ASPIRE2DRIVE this course normally takes place on a one to one basis over a minimum 6 hour period (may be extended if thought necessary), using either the driving school car, or your own car, provided covered by adequate valid insurance. The course is usually completed within the first year of passing the practical test, although every driver can in fact take a “pass plus” course at any time during their driving lifetime. However, when the car insurance factor is involved with a participating insurance company the start date can be deferred, officially there is no time limit, the only stipulation is that this would be an individual’s first car insurance policy. The discounts involved can equate to up to a 30% discount on car insurance premiums with participating companies involved in the scheme. This equals 1 years no claims bonus on the policy. This may be deferred for 2 years if you currently drive under someone else’s policy. This means if you buy a car within the 2 years of completing your pass plus course, and have no had any claims or convictions in the meantime, your first premium will be reduced by the extra 1 years no claim bonus.
